It’s the game you never asked to play.
A one-way bus ticket to Florida offers Rodney Corso the chance at a fresh start from his dead-end life in South Carolina.
Unfortunately, he’d never reach his final destination.
During the ten-hour trek to Miami, Rodney and the rest of the passengers awaken to find themselves duct-taped to their seats; stranded in the middle of nowhere. Their captor reveals himself, informing them that they are participants in a game of survival.
“The rules are simple,” he tells them. “Follow the flares to reach the safe zone. Make it there, and you live. Stay, and they will come tear you apart.”
Who is running this game? What awaits them out there in the darkness? And will these flares lead to freedom or straight into a trap?
If Rodney and the others want to live long enough to find out, they will have no choice but to uncover the dark secret that has brought them here and face a nightmare, unlike anything they have ever experienced before.

The synopsis of The Death Wish Game can only be described as thrilling and very terrifying! This novel is a survivalist novel, this is the core theme throughout this book. The novel follows the protagonist of the novel, Rodney. Rodney is a sweet man who has lived in South Carolina for all of his life but he wants a change of scenery and so he decides to get on a bus to Miami where he can start his life afresh. However, this novel soon takes a dark and deadly turn when Rodney and the rest of the people on the bus, awake to find themselves duct-taped to their chairs in the middle of nowhere. Soon, their captor reveals themselves and well, all hell breaks loose! Their captor tells them that they must reach a designated area within a period of time otherwise something will come and tear them apart…
The Death Wish Game has to be one of my favorite horror/capture books of all time. It is a gripping, glorious read that is a triumphant piece of fiction. This book was an all-consuming assault of excellence and because of this I struggled to put it down; I was compelled to read the intriguing story, the authors writing was so terrifying and thrilling at the same time that I could not resist!
The story of The Death Wish Game is unlike anything I have read or heard of before. It is a unique horror book that stands out amongst the crowd. This is because the story is wonderfully written and the plot perfectly executed. It is relentless and that is how horror books should be! I adore these kinds of books where they push the boundaries, it is daring and bold and frankly brilliant! I always measure my likeness of a book on whether I find myself looking at the page number; if I do in fact do this I know that the novel is taking its toll… in other words it is dragging and I want it to end but The Death Wish Game was different than this and not like this at all as never once did I find myself referring to the page number and that is a sure sign that this book is a compelling piece of work that draws the reader in and captivates them to read it quickly and to reach the end of the book very fast.
Jonathan Chateau, the author of the novel can only be described as a talented writer, the finest kind who is imaginative as well as passionate, these are two qualities I look for in an author and Chateau certainly, has them! His words were exceptional and very chilling, I adored how he wrote the scene where the captor revealed himself, it was chilling, so much so that it chilled me to my core and frightened me. At this point in the novel I had so many questions; I desperately wanted to know why they were doing this and what were the things that would tear them apart! It is a thought-provoking novel that will thrill and excite you the whole way through!
To summarize my thoughts on the thrilling novel that is The Death Wish Game I would say if you are a reader who Is tired of reading the same old books that are lackluster and forgettable then take a chance with this excellent book because I promise you now that you will not be disappointed. It is a novel that has everything the reader would want in a read and so much more; it has spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, a charismatic author that writes beautifully and wonderfully so and lastly it is an all-around, interesting, memorable read that you will not be disappointed if you choose to read it.
