Walt Erickson is a famous author whose books are read by millions of adoring fans, but he has never written a word of his own novels. The secret behind his novels is the stuff of nightmares.
With his agent, an associate, and a particularly unique typewriter by his side, Walt’s creative process is much more sinister and merciless than the average writer’s. The lengths to which one man will go to achieve fame and notoriety give a chilling glimpse into what humans are capable of, regardless of the moral consequences.
The Wordsmith is a thrilling and darkly innovative story of suspense, one that will force you to wonder if we can ever truly know the whole story behind the people we love. Is it possible to unearth the darkest details of ourselves and still come out alive?
As Walt’s hunger for fame continues to grow, and his girlfriend begins to suspect the unsettling truth behind his words, the tenuous threads holding Walt’s life together begin to fray.
From the astoundingly imaginative mind of Alan Ayer, The Wordsmith is a gripping narrative that dares to peer into the shadows of the darkest aspects of humanity. Our story—our fate in life—is often written against our will.
The Wordsmith is an engaging, thrilling, unique novel that floored me from the very beginning. This novel is expertly written, so much so that the story flows beautifully and easily. The characters combined with the exceptional writing and plot make it a captivating, thrilling read; one that I will not forget for a long time! It explores many themes that are poignant and make you think, it really is a thought-provoking novel that features many twists and turns. For some reason this novel reminded me of Shadow of the Wind, this book, in my opinion, is exceptional and there are no clear similarities between the two books other than phenomenal writers and a book theme but it did remind me of that book so if you adore that book then you will love this!
The Wordsmith is a book with an expertly crafted, sensational plot that is full of suspense and intrigue. This novel follows the protagonist, who is a successful ‘novelist’ named Walt Erickson. Erickson is a creative genius and has acquired a great deal of fame from his writing. However, there is a secret to his writing and it is both shocking and thrilling at the same time. This is the kind of book that needs to be read without knowing hardly anything about it so as much as I would love to talk about the plot of the book for hours upon hours I cant, because it will spoil it for you and I really do not want to do this as this book is so exceptional!
The Wordsmith kept me intrigued and entertained the whole way through and this thanks to the novels incredible intriguing, unique plot that is unlike anything I have read before. It is a mystery that will keep your mind ticking over for ages, it forces you to think and I adored this. I love thought-provoking novels and The Wordsmith is certainly this!
The author of the novel, Alan Ayers is a talented and creative genius in my eyes. He has taken his love of writing and made a terrifying, thrilling story out of it. This is very unique to see these days in the world of literature but Ayers has managed to combine literature and his love of literature all into one incredible, memorable book. His writing from the get-go was thrilling. I adored the crazy, somewhat insane twists and the supernatural elements; all of this and much more kept me entertained for hours upon hours. I enjoyed being lost in this mad but brilliant world so much and would implore all of you lovely readers to read it!
