The Stone of Mercy, M.J. Evans

The Stone of Mercy Front cover with award.png“Be it known throughout the land that the rightful heir to the throne of Crystonia will be the wearer of the Silver Breastplate with its four Stones of LIght: The Stone of Mercy, The Stone of Courage, The Stone of Integrity and The Stone of Wisdom.”

By tradition, the ruler of Crystonia will be the one in possession of the Silver Breastplate. Yet the rightful heir has not appeared and the throne that sits atop Mount Heilodius has stood empty for a century and a half.

The kingdom is being torn apart as the biggest and strongest races battle for control. Even the herd of peace-loving Centaurs has splintered into two factions, one awaiting the promised bearer of the breastplate, the other seeking power and control over the land.

Unbeknownst to all but a very few, the Silver Breastplate has been created. In due course, it is presented to a sixteen-year-old Duende girl named Carling, one of the tiny descendants of the fairies that once filled the land. But the silver breastplate is not complete. In order for its wearer to have the skills to rule the land righteously, the young Duende needs to find the four stones of light that are needed to finish this magical source of power and authority.

This is the riveting story of Carling’s quest. She, along with her friends, must risk their lives to save their land and fulfil the assignment given to them to complete the silver breastplate.

The Stone of Mercy is a timeless, fantasy read that will keep you engrossed, enthralled and enchanted until the very end of the book. The Stone of Mercy is a phenomenal book that is addictive and enchanting at the same time; I found this novel unputdownable and so will you too! The synopsis of The Stone of Mercy is entertaining, glorious, and let’s not forget memorable. The novel has a plot that has surprised me more than once thanks to its captivating and absorbing plot; one thing is for certain when you read The Stone of Mercy and that is you will never be bored reading because it is a diverse, all-consuming assault of fantasy brilliance that will keep you motivated to read until the very end, it is like the author has a binding spell on you and the only way to break this spell is to fully immerse yourself in the novels layers upon layers of excellence and brilliance.

The plot of The Stone of Mercy focuses on the protagonist of the novel Carling. Carling’s mother when she was pregnant was told a prophecy that her child would be the ruler of Crystonia and when Carling turns 16 years old, she is told by a wizard that she is indeed the chosen one.

Now that I have briefly discussed the synopsis of The Stone of Mercy I now want to discuss my general thoughts on the story of The Stone of Mercy for you lovely readers so that you can decide whether you would like to read the fascinating book or not.

The story of The Stone of Mercy is an incredibly dynamic, unique piece of work that took my breath away on more than one occasion. It is a marvellous tale that features many mystical, wondrous creatures, such as centaurs, ogres and a few more intriguing things as a battle for the control of Crystonia rages. The pacing of this story was wonderfully written and plotted so that I did not get bored at any given time. I always measure my likeness of a book on whether I find myself looking at the page number; if I do in fact do this I know that the book in question is taking its toll… in other words it is dragging and I want it to end but The Stone of Mercy was different than this and not like this at all as never once did I find myself referring to the page number and that is a sure sign that The Stone of Mercy is a compelling piece of work that draws the reader in and captivates them to read it quickly and to reach the end of the book very fast.

The author of the novel M.J. Evans can only be described as a literary artisan. Writing for me is an art form, it is much of an art as beautiful renaissance sculptures (I have a passion for reading as well as the renaissance period!), paintings and wonderfully executed movies that excite the viewer. The objective of any great writer is that of any kind of artist; it is to communicate a message and to delight the recipient whether that be the listener, the viewer or the reader… in this case the reader. Evans has wonderfully delighted me and has communicated the novel’s message to me perfectly, she made me get lost in an incredible, fantasy realm and for that, I am in awe of her work and her visionary thinking mind.

Evans writing was radiant, the words from her visionary thinking mind shone of the page luminous that I felt a glow of pure enjoyment from reading this enchanting novel. It is the type of book that the reader will want to read over and over again so that he and/or she can pick up new details to fully immerse themselves in the brilliant world of The Stone of Mercy.

To summarize my thoughts on the charming, exquisite novel that is The Stone of Mercy I would say if you are a reader who Is tired of reading the same old books that are lacklustre and forgettable then take a chance with The Stone of Mercy because I promise you now that you will not be disappointed. It is a novel that has everything the reader would want in a read and so much more; it has spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, a charismatic author that writes beautifully and wonderfully so and lastly it is an all-around, interesting, memorable read that you will not be disappointed if you choose to read it. My rating for this wonderful book, of course, has to be Five Stars, it would be crazy if I did not give it this rating after all of my praise over these paragraphs!
