A dangerous man lurks in the shadows because discoveries like this don’t go unnoticed. The fun family adventure instantly takes a dangerous turn as he makes his move on the prize and all hell breaks loose.

Project Genesis is a science fiction short story which prequels the series latest release, The Cost of Survival. Although this short story is well, short! It is brilliant and full of a wealth of knowledge that will set readers up for the story in The Cost of Survival! I adored this book and loved how it was only an hour read, this may be less for some readers but if you are a mother with young babies, then it certainly will be an hour read!

Project Genesis is a read that kept me engrossed and entertained very early on, which is crucial, if not a necessity for a short story! Already I would compare this short story to another favorite short story of mine which is The Grownup by Gillian Flynn. These two books are completely different, in story, in style of writing, in the genre… everything! But they do have one thing in common and this is that they are both talented writers who are excellent at grabbing the reader’s attention from the very first page. I have to admit, I have not read many short stories but gosh has Project Genesis convinced me to do so! It was unputdownable, engrossing and thrilling which also had a great amount of depth that makes me intrigued and excited to review The Cost of Survival! This book is only $0.99 so it is a steal!

The synopsis of Project Genesis reminds me of National Treasure the movie, it is definitely in the same league as that fun adventure of a movie and it definitely resonates with the archeology themes in this brilliant book. Without spoiling Project Genesis, this book tells the discovery of something that is very important for the world. The president, after hearing of this discovery, he enlists the help of a chief archeologist called Belkis Finch, Finch and his granddaughter who has a thirst for all things archeology and history! Go on an epic but dangerous adventure and this is all I can say about this book without spoiling it for you lovely readers!

I found the story of Project Genesis to be intensely gripping and magnificent. The imagery within this book was breath-taking, the plot captivated and absorbed me from the first page and this is all thanks to the books wonderful author, J.L. Stowers. Stowers tells the story of the discovery that means a lot for both mankind and science, it is the perfect tease and taster of what readers are to expect in The Cost of Survival! Because I am so taken with this book, I am excited to start reading The Cost of Survival and I already know that it will be as brilliant as this book and this is all thanks to the books talented writer.

Stowers is a creative writer who is bold with her ideas and her plot line. Her plot was so unique and fascinating that it compelled me to read until the very end. I read on Stowers Amazon author page that she grew up in a small town in Idaho and that the desert became a place of inspiration. I have to say that I really adore this, I love when I read about authors who grew up in small places, this means that they have a creative imagination for all things bigger so this did add another level of greatness to this wonderful book!

To summarize my thoughts on the thrilling book that is Project Genesis I would say if you are a reader who Is tired of reading the same old books that are lackluster and forgettable then take a chance with this one because I promise you now that you will not be disappointed. It is a book that has everything the reader would want in a read and so much more; it has spine-tingling good content, dynamic, memorable characters, a charismatic author that writes beautifully and wonderfully so and lastly it is an all-around, interesting, memorable read that you will not be disappointed if you choose to read it. My rating for this wonderful book, of course, has to be Five Stars, it would be crazy if I did not give it this rating after all of my praise over these paragraphs!

I loved the first one best. Considering my TBR pile, not as soon as I would like. 😀
