Leslie Michaels is a visionary, and only those close to her know of her special gift and visions. Fate has a way of righting many wrongs, and for Leslie, it is a destiny that changes her life dramatically, but not before she is forced to flee into the wilderness to escape a murderous trapper bent on claiming her for his very own.

Faith and a strong will to survive are her only companions until she encounters Winnokin, the handsome Seneca war chief, who first came to her in her dreams. Not only does he prove to be her rescuer and protector, he teaches her that tragedy can breed happiness and the passion to live and love deeply once more.

Wind Warrior is a poignant love story that sweeps the reader away on a timeless adventure; this novel is a stunning historical romance, and I reveled in every moment of it, I found it to be addictive as wildly entertaining, and if you love western romances then this novel is for you!
Wind Warrior is a story that the reader can easily get lost in, the author of this novel, Cynthia Roberts, manages to whisk the reader away effortlessly thanks to her excellent plot as well as her eloquent writing. She has written a timeless, beautiful love story that tells the story of two souls who are brought together by premonitions and it makes for a captivating, all-consuming read.

Wind Warrior follows the protagonist of the novel, Leslie. Leslie is a sweet, charming character who’s narration jumps right off the page. Sadly, Leslie has endured much hardship and heartache in her life as at the tender age of, just seventeen, she married, and by the age of twenty-two, she was widowed.
This on a personal level upset me. This hit home for me because at the age of 17, I married my husband who is older than me but also a Marine, so of course, he is in a dangerous, position almost daily so to read of Leslie’s husband’s death was tragic. To make matters worse for Leslie, Leslie also lost her son at the same time as her son and husband were killed in a freak storm and to make things even worse; her mother died not long after so now, Leslie is left with her father, but she is not that affectionate of him.

Leslie may appear to be the ordinary, average woman, but in fact, she is unique, she has a gift of foresight, and frequently she dreams of a handsome Indian warrior and soon, the reader learns that he is the other half of her soul. This part in this thrilling novel reminded me of an old Greek Mythological tale. As some of you may or may not know, I studied the classics, and I could not help but find a resemblance with this section and a Greek tale. If you are interested more about this then please see the attachment I have added, it is a fascinating story that talks about finding one’s soul after Zeus condemned humanity to do so because of the wrath he felt against his creation (humans). This is only a tiny snippet of a much larger story, but I think it should be mentioned because I think it resembled sections in this book.

Before I lost my train of thought, I was discussing that Leslie has been given a gift; her visions become more powerful and frequent, and soon she starts to see a handsome man. In her heart, she knows that she is destined to be in his life. However, she does not know when and this is the premise of this brilliant, captivating story.

Wind Warrior has a thrilling, exciting plot that is full of twists and turns galore. It is a brilliant Indian romance that will make anybody fall in love with western romances. I have to say; I loved the protagonist of the novel Leslie. Leslie is an excellent character who compels the reader to carry on reading from the very start. From a very early point in this book, I was rooting for her, and I wanted her to have a happy ending because she deserved it.

The Indian aspects in this novel were fascinating, my husband has Cherokee blood, so when we first met, I read a lot of books about Indian culture and history, so that is why I loved the Indian facts written throughout this novel. I am so impressed by the author, Cynthia Roberts, she must have researched this subject religiously, and for that I admire her. Her book is packed full of Native history, so if you are interested in this topic, then this book is undoubtedly for you.

Robert’s writing is full of passion as well as twists and turns that will keep the reader entertained and excited to the very end. Robert’s novel was full of beautiful descriptions of the surroundings, and it was breath-taking to read. She writes in a way that makes the reader feel a host of different emotions; at some points, I felt a lovely feeling whereas at other points I felt feelings of anxiousness. This is what a brilliant writer does; they take you on a thrilling tale where the reader explores a host of different emotions and for that Roberts can only be described as a wordsmith extraordinaire.

To summarise my thoughts on this charming, beautiful, eloquent story, I would say, if you adore western romances that have a beautiful love story at its core as well as intriguing, fascinating cultures then this novel is for you! This charming book gets Five Stars from me!
