In Dog Food Stew, Max uncovers his aunt’s evil plan to sell his nanna’s house. But Max has a plan of his own. Will he stop his nanna’s house from being sold and get revenge on his evil aunt?
Revenge can be sweet, but it can also leave a funny taste.
Max’s Revenge is an incredible children’s book that will be the perfect read for nine to twelve-year-olds. As a mother, I am always on the lookout for brilliant children books that my children can love. However, I only choose children books for my children that have humor as well as great morals laced throughout its story. That is one of the many reasons why Max’s Revenge is a brilliant book; this book has humor, mischief, an incredible plot and even a beautiful moral at the end of the story. Max’s Revenge is book one in a three-part series written by the amazing Sally Gould that follows Max and his crazy adventures! Already if you are a parent or carer and or even have nephews and nieces or young siblings, then Max’s Revenge should be bought for them because this book is an expertly written story that will captivate young readers minds!
Max is the star of Max’s Revenge and the next two books in the story titled ‘Outback Hero’ and ‘The Venetian Job.’ All three of these books are based in Australia as the author is native to Australia and I admit, I love this! I may not be Australian, but I adore that this book is because it will be able to transport my children and children from all over to the beautiful country. The reader will get to follow Max in Max’s Revenge as he is told sternly that he is not to cause mischief on the day of Daniel and Sophie’s wedding. Max is being reminded of this often by his father, and he was persuaded to do so as he was the pageboy. However, his ‘evil’ Aunt has had Max replaced with five-year-old, Hamish the Horrible. Worse still, he won’t be with beautiful Lucy, the flower girl. What happens next is an unraveling of hilarious, shocking events that will have young readers laughing their heads of!
Sally Gould is an incredibly talented author who knows how to entertain young readers minds. To be a children’s book author is hard because children are harsh critics and they are the most opinionated of all! What is more is that they are hard to keep entertained for long periods! That is why Sally Gould is exceptionally talented because she is able to captivate readers minds from the very beginning. Her incredible story will keep readers entertained from beginning to end because it continuously surprises you as well as shock you. The humor alone in Max’s Revenge is brilliant and genius! Sally Gould really does know how to speak to young readers and so I recommend this book for all of those between the ages of nine and twelve. However, this book could easily read by ages up to the age of 15 because its story is brilliant! Because of how much I loved this story and the beautiful messages laced throughout it as well as the silly but fun humor, I have to award Max’s Revenge Five Stars!
