Hi there! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog, I appreciate it so much! You probably found yourself at this part of my page because you are interested to know more about the ‘RedheadedBooklover’Β ,Β however, I won’t bore you with the details of my life so I will keep this short! All you really need to know about me is that my name is Aimee, I am married to the most perfect, incredible man, who also happens to be a Marine! I am a mother to 2 beautiful children and newborn twin babies! And that I am young…Yes! You can be young and still be an amazing wife and an incredible mother!
My interests, of course, include reading and reviewing – lots of it! – Furthering my studies in Psychology (Forensic & Evolutionary) and Classical Studies (Huge Greek Mythology lover here!), and binge-watching the hell out of my favourite TV series (Game of Thrones fan here! And Yesss I have read the books and I loved them!) and who can forget spending time with my beautiful family.

I always love talking with all of my readers and would love to get to know you more on an individual/personal level so if you would like to talk about anything then please either comment on my posts, email me or find me on Instagram! My Instagram can be found at the top of my website, just click on one of the photos and it will take you straight there! I would love to talk to you so please do get in touch, I am friendly and happy always so I look forward to speaking with all you lovely people! For all the fellow mummies and Armed Forces wives, I would really love to talk with you also about all things parenting and the armed forces life! So please, comment below or email me and I will always message you back!

I get asked a few questions however I have seen a pattern emerge and these two questions seem to be asked a lot so here are my answers!

Why don’t I show my face or any photos of my family? This is a question I get asked often. The reason I don’t is that I am a very private person, I have always been and I am very protective over my family; this is why I do not share photos. However! If you want to envision me just envision a fair-skinned woman, with fiery red hair and green eyes! I have been told I look like Amanda Righetti from The Mentalist although her hair is way more gorgeous than mine could ever be! If you want to envision my husband then envision a 6ft 7 bearded marine who has a very stern look but is actually a total sweetheart; he would kill me for saying this!

Although I do not post photos of me and my family across social media I do write about my husband and my children occasionally in my reviews. With my reviews, I always try to add in something about my family, me, or my life in general which is relevant to the book I am reviewing, that way my reviews are much more personal and you get to know me and my family a little bit better! So if you did want to learn even more about me than reading my reviews are one of the best ways too as they are all sprinkled with bits about me, my life and my family! And no, this is not a ploy for you to read my reviews! Lol.

Another popular question I am frequently asked is: Why are all of your reviews so positive?! As I am sure you can tell by now I am aΒ veryΒ positive person and I hate negativity. I have chosen to only post reviews of books I have given Four of Five stars too. Of course, I read many books which are not so good however I do not see the point in reviewing those as I would not recommend them and therefore I do not see any reasoning as to why I would write a lengthy review about how much I disliked a book! I hope this makes sense. So I only review books which are genuinely incredible, I am a tough critic so if a book is reviewed here on my blog then it must be good! I have also chosen to only write positive reviews because I want to keep the atmosphere on my blog as light, optimistic and as fun as possible!

There you are, my two most asked questions answered! If you have any more for me then please do comment below and I will be sure to get back to you! Before I finish writing this already very long post I just wanted to say that if you are an author, either self-published or published and you would like for me to review your book then please email me through my contact form which is attached below! I reply almost instantly so I look forward to hearing from you! You can also visit my Services page or my Testimonials page to hear more about what I offer and reviews for my services!

Reading is my passion and I love the art of literature and the written word. What do I love more than reading books? Reviewing them! I adore reviewing books and am happy to review your book whether you are a self-published author or a published author. Recently I have adored reviewing self-published novels. There are so many wonderful self-published books out there but the big name publishers won’t give them the time of day and that is so incredibly sad to me. If you are an independent author reading this then please, keep going! Never stop or give up on your dream of becoming a published/successful author. Look at Andy Weir the author of The Martian; He never gave up and he has made a pretty penny. My point is never give up on your dream. So please, if you would love for me to review your novel then please do email me through my contact form!

Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate it so much and I truly love talking with all of you so please do comment on my reviews and always let me know your thoughts; I love talking with fellow readers about books and anything really so much! Thank you so much again for stopping by!

Goodbye for now book lovers,

Hi there! Thank you for deciding to follow my blog. Not sure what caught your eye, but welcome anyway. I am old enough to be your grandmother, but so what!? We both like reading.

Reply

Don’t be silly I followed your blog because I read one review and then couldn’t stop myself from reading all of your other reviews! I truly love reading reviews and yours are awesome so keep at it!

Thanks for liking my post. What exactly do you like about it?

Thanks, it is film time next! The 59th London Film Festival is about to kick off, so I will be going to 24 new films over 10 days – my posts will all be about new and unusual films. I hope that will appeal to you as well.

Reply

I am so jealous that sounds so awesome I can’t wait to read your blog posts. I have been to the London film festival before when I was younger and I loved it however ever since I moved to New Jersey (my husband is American and I am British!) I haven’t had a chance to go so you can be my guide essentially! I look forward to reading all about it (:

Have you heard of The Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells? Your blog title reminded me of the book πŸ™‚ Anyway Ya I’m a fan of Game of Thrones too! You are very ambitious and I’m happy for you. I wish you and your husband all the best. Jeez I never graduated from grade 12 ffs.

Reply

I haven’t heard of this book but I just googled it and it sounds perfect! It is going straight onto my TBR list it sounds awesome. Have you read it? And yay! Game of Thrones is epic I literally love it so much.
Neither did I at first! I left school at 17 to be with my husband and then after my first child I went back to studying. At home of course! No way would I be able to study all day in a university with a child. That would be crazy! This is so kind though thank you so much! Is it bizarre of me to say that I am intrigued to know more about you? Lol.

Reply

Yes I’ve read Red-Headed Stepchild and all the other books in that series . I got it from Secret Santa a few years ago and I was hooked. Bizarre? No but you probably wouldn’t think I was so fascinating after getting to know me lol

Reply

Trust me I find anybody fascinating! Tell me a little bit about yourself I love getting to know book lovers! (:
Oh and I am 100% going to check out this series. Are they very good? Thank you so much for recommending the series also!

I have a boyfriend who works 12 hours a day so he’s gone for the most part meanwhile I stay at home and do what I want basically. lol I should update my about me or my gravatar profile hey . It requires more thought than I care to answer at the moment but I loved that book series .You can find my reviews of them on goodreads or my booklikes. Do you have a goodreads account? add me to friends there . I’m not much of an avid reader though. My reading is based on my goodreads challenge.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/452090273

I added you! (: and trust me I know how you feel on the boyfriend front. My husband is a mechanical engineer and is very busy, especially in the winter and summer! But he is the love of my life so I support him in whatever he does!

Yay thank you!

Thanks for following my blog. I usually enjoy writing reviewss but I am experiencing a writer’s blog right now. As you grow older many of views will changed I amnow 84 years young and not much astonished me. I read mostly mysteries asI read for enji. I will read up on something that interested me.

You’re a Greek Mythology lover? I already like you!

Reply

Yay! A fellow Greek Mythology lover! I must know more about you, people who love Greek mythology are hard to come by these days! Mythology is my life though I am obsessed!

Reply

I studied Classics and English Lit in uni and I never get tired of reading mythology! I especially love tragedies; I’m a bit morbid that way!

Reply

This is so amazing! I am planning on starting a classical history course at university and I am so excited because I get to learn about mythology more! I never get tired of it, it is incredible! And so do I! Do you have a favourite story? I think my all time favourite is Hades and Persephone because I love Dementer in it also. Also the story of Persus and Medusa is incredible!!

Yes! I love Perseus and Medusa too. That myths got everything! I also love the Odyssey – love all the dangers and adventures Odysseus comes across on his way home!

The Odyssey is such an incredible story. I just love mythology so much without it my life would have no fun! Lol

Reply

Thank you for following my blog :-). I love Greek mythology too: I went to Greece in July and was lucky enough to see several of the archaeological sites.

Reply

No problem I love your blog so of course I would want to follow it (:
Greek mythology is my passion. I love it more than anything. I too have gone to see many of the archaeological sites and it is so incredible. I was awe struck when I was there because growing up all I had ever done was read mythological stories and there I was standing in some of the temples where grecians would actually pray to their God and goddess. It was incredible. How did you find it ? (:

Reply

I like your choice in books and the fact that you are following my blog. Thank you.

Reply

Aww this is so kind of you! People always ask me “what is your favourite genre of book?” And that to me seems the most impossible question, not just on this planet but on this universe! I read anything and everything depending on whether I am hooked from the first page. After years of being reading mad and reading books which don’t bring me too much enjoyment I now only read books which I completely love because I feel that there is too little time in this world to read books which aren’t incredible. Maybe this is just me and my thoughts but yes! Thank you so much for commenting! (: again I really do love you blog (:

Reply

I feel the same way. I actually read and write only what I like.

I love Greek Mythology too!!!

Thanks for the positive comment about my blog.

What an interesting mix of interests – not mutually exclusive, as far as I’m concerned, though… I love eclectic!

Have you read Kate Atkinson’s book NOT THE END OF THE WORLD? There’s a lot of mythological reference in there, which even those (like me) who haven’t been steeped in it all their lives can still pick up on. All the stories are interwoven in the book, too, making it quite interesting.

Here’s a link in case you’re interested:

Thank you for visiting my blog and following me. It looks like we have some things in common. We read similar books and I was a History major in college and one of my areas of specialization was the ancients/classics. I even did study tours in Greece and Italy!

Thanks for the follow. Interested in your fascination with Greek mythology- I’m currently learning Ancient Greek so soon I’ll be able to read all those originals.

Reply

This is so incredible! I have to say well done for starting to learn Ancient Greek because I would fail so much at that! I am awful at languages I only wish I could learn and do what you are going to do and read all the original texts! That would be so perfect. Thank you so much for commenting I really appreciate it and love talking to fellow book lovers!

Forensic science and Greek mythology are are FANTASTIC combination. Congratulations on your beautiful family; it’s nice to read about someone who’s happy in life.

Reply

Aww this is the sweetest comment ever! Thank you so much you don’t understand how much this means to me. My family are my WORLD. Do you have an interest in either Forensic science or Greek mythology? And thank you so much for finding it a fantastic combination compared to a bizarre one! I really love this comment

Reply

Oops, I meant forensic psychology–that’s even cooler. I think both topics are interesting, and Variety is the spice of life.

Reply

I knew what you meant! A lot of people I know call it forensic science because technically psychology is classified as a science! And yes they certainly are interesting (: thanks once again for commenting!

Loved reading more about you!! I got married at the age of 21, and I have completed my studies in the civil engineering field, which I am now currently slaving away in lol! I enjoy reading about bloggers, and I especially enjoy it when I have somethings in common with them πŸ™‚ Great blog, I am totally following you!

Nihaad – the little blog of STUFF

Reply

This is so incredible! It is also nice to find a fellow book lover who married young! Did people ever judge your decision? At first I got a lot of judgment but then they saw me and my husband together and they all became ok because they could see how much I love him. I can’t believe you studied in the civil engineering field! My husband is an engineer so I really admire you!! And thank you so much!!

Reply

I completely agree. There will always be those who criticize and question your decisions, and even now I still get the occasional odd look thrown my way but I am happy so I don’t let that affect me. I knew my husband for about 10 years and I knew I wanted to be with him forever, so it was pointless to wait! It was the best decision I ever made, and now so many of our friends want to settle down too because they see how good it is for us. Thank you so much for saying that πŸ™‚ Your field of studies sounds really interesting too!! Would be amazing to hear more about it over here on your blog!!

As I met my wife almost 25 years ago, when she was 15 and I, 22, I totally identify with the whole “love of my life” thing πŸ™‚

This is so beautiful! I love this so much. When I gush about my husband people are like “oh yeah, sure” but it is just because they haven’t found the love of their life. It is the most amazing and incredible feeling. I can’t wait until I am married for as long as you two have been! And congratulations that is really beautiful. I admire you (:

Reply

Aw, you! Thank you – the feeling is mutual πŸ™‚

I’m so relieved that you left a comment on my blog – otherwise I wouldn’t have found this amazing blog! Married at 17, wife and mother and studying Psychology & greek mythology (Awesome Combination! Thanks so much and I’ll be sure to check on your blog every now and then.

Thanks for the follow. My oldest daughter is interested in forensics, but not the psychology part. πŸ™‚ I’m glad to ‘meet’ a fellow book lover! Enjoy your family, that’s great!

Reply

Aww then she is in for a real journey! I studied forensics when I was much younger to see what it was like and I loved it. It branches off into so many different areas and that’s how I ended up at forensic psychology! I wish her all the best! We need more forensics in this world! So this is really amazing (: and thank you so much! I am glad to meet a fellow stranger too!!

Reply

I meant book lover!!!! Lol. I had just woken up so I am so sorry! I have no idea why I wrote that lol

Reply

Thanks for the follow, my love. Brit abroad, eh? How is it? Missing tea? Pot Noodles? Marmite?
I can see the link between forensics and Greek myths – just imagine how useful a forensics expert would be amongst all the blood and gore the ancients threw about πŸ™‚ I remember reading Medea for my History degree – yes, she was a spurned psycho kid killer, but she did it with style.
I have a kids book idea that has a heavy influence from the Greek myths, or rather what Gods get up to when they’re no longer Godding around…
Also GoT fans, though TV only, as I fear some kind of RSI from lifting those huge books.
All the best x

Reply

This comment is so incredible thank you so much for writing this it made my day! I miss marmite so badly!! I buy ‘vegemite’ but it is not the same. My husband hates it though! He thinks I am crazy! Also I make him take me to the fish and chips restaurant every week lol.
I love your interpretation of forensic’s and the Greek myths! It is so true! As I read some of the stories I am always thinking “what made him do that?”. People find it bizarre because forensic psychology is to do with science and fact whereas Greek mythology is just myths and literature and not science. People I know find this amusing! Thanks so much for commenting this is so incredible! x

Reply

Don’t judge your husband too harshly – I think you have to be bought up with Marmite to appreciate its finer qualities πŸ™‚ I’m glad you can get fish and chips – are they proper chips or fries?
The Greek way of thinking is certainly different from our own. Their interpretation of a ‘hero’ being someone far more ‘grey’ than we’re used to in Hollywood films etc.
They were a fascinating, contrary bunch, the Ancient Greeks.
I like your mix of subjects – it’s a sort of Yin and Yang approach to study πŸ™‚

Reply

I think that is true! But then his family love it! He must just be odd! Oh and yeah they are proper chips which I love! And he loves them too which is great.
And you are so right, they are hailed heroes for committing evil acts most of the time.

Good man for loving chips! No wonder you married him πŸ™‚
And the Greek myths show how society changes – the past is a foreign country, so they say.

I love how you know so much on the Greek myths. I find it so incredible of you. And you are right, 100% right.

Thank you. I know bits, but would like to know more. I still have a lovely book of Greek myths on my TBR shelf which I need to get round to.
I never studied Ancient Greece, but I learned a fair bit on Roman culture, and of course, the Romans stole a lot from the Greeks.

I devour Greek mythology books like no tomorrow. Even though I know every story I love to read them again and again picking up on new details or distinguishing the variations between different texts. The Romans stole practically everything from the Greek gods! Roman mythology is very interesting but that is just because it is practically still Greek mythology just different names

Absolutely. They admired the Greeks, stole their culture then conquered and subdued them and went on to despise them for their effeminacy! A right cheek πŸ™‚

This is the best short description I have ever heard on this subject. I love this so much (:

Thank you! I do love a bit of Ancient History. I’ll look forward to your next review. And it had been very nice chatting πŸ™‚

I’m a fake redhead (wish it were real), and I love Greek and Norse myths enough, they’ve snuck into some of my stories and books. I took 4 years of Latin in high school and got hooked on the Roman versions of Greek myths. I used to tell my little sister (12 years younger) Greek myths for her bedtime stories:) Her favorite was Pygmalion. I retold it over and over again. My favorite still has to be Odysseus. Thor Heyerdahl tried to recreate his journey to discover what natural elements led to the myths, if I remember right.

Aww this is so amazing. I am so sorry I have only just replied this was in my spam for some unknown reason! Reply

You’re so welcome! Your blog is great (: and this is so amazing congratulations! It’s a shame about your family and friends shaking their heads but I know exactly how you feel! Even more so because I ran away to Scotland to marry my husband just a few days after my 17th birthday! They were shocked to say the least and they said it wouldn’t last but it has been nearly 5 years now and we are still as happy as ever and still madly in love! With a beautiful family. So your family and friends will come around eventually just like mine did! But really don’t worry what anybody thinks! Love is love at the end of the day and you should never apologise for that (:
Sorry for this massive comment though I just get so passionate!

haha no no don’t apologize, it just shows that you care πŸ˜‰ you are right, i am pretty sure they will come around , in the end its not them who are getting married but me haha

Looking forward to reading your blog posts! I have got to admit that I’m somewhat jealous of you – I want children soooo much. I’m sure you’re the best wife and mother ever. πŸ™‚

Reply

Aww thank you so much Benita! You are so incredibly sweet, thanks so much! And bless you, you will have many children if that is what you want! Growing up all I ever wanted was a beautiful husband and beautiful family and I wished for it every night, so when I met my husband I knew that it was meant to be and it was! So keep wishing and your dreams will come true. Sounds cheesy as hell! But it happened to me (: thank you so much for commenting though I adore you so much! (:

Reply

Thank you for the follow, I have returned the favor! We have a couple of things in common, I studied Greek & Roman Literature at school and I am fascinated with forensics – it helps with the details in my novels.
Happy reading and I hope you will browse my books at some stage

You are more than welcome! Truly. Thank you so much for following me back! It means we can keep in touch with each other’s posts and I love this! Young you may be in years, but obviously not in your view of the world and your appreciation of your family. I don’t believe I came to any of those realizations until much later for sure!
Thanks for following my blog. I love company and comments.

Reply

This is the sweetest thing anybody has ever said to me, thank you so much! You don’t understand how much I appreciate this. I love my family more than anything in this world and have always had these ‘traditional views’ from a young age. And you are so welcome! Your blog is truly great! Don’t be a stranger (:

Reply

Hi, nice reviews and I can see, we are reading the same authors (Larsson, Brown, Clare) πŸ™‚

Reply

Omg, thank you so much! And yes! This is so amazing, we are destined to be book friends because of this (: don’t be a stranger!

Reply

πŸ™‚ and what about fourth part of Millennium saga? Have you read David Lagercrantz’s book? Mine is still of the shelves.

Reply

I still haven’t even read the second book in the series! I don’t know what is wrong with me, because I am obsessed with the first book but I just still haven’t got round to it yet and I am kicking myself for it lol. But I do think that I will read the 4th after the original series because apparently it is really good!

Reply

Thanks for stopping by my blog, recently.

And I would argue that a degree in Forensic Psychology would very much help in understanding Greek Mythology, which combined help interpret “Game of Thrones”.

Best!

Reply

You are so welcome, I am so glad I came across you! And yes! I guess if does. It helps understand the atrocities a lot of them committed, and I never thought that it helps to interpret game of thrones but I guess it does! Do you like mythology of game of thrones at all? (:
Thank you so much for commenting by the way!

While doing my B.Sc. in biochemistry, I did a minor in Greek Mythology…it was story time for me. And my background in genetics really helped digest the whole parthenogenesis thing with Athena and Haephestus. As for GoT, my ex is a bigger fan than me, but I enjoy much of the spectacle.

Reply

This is incredible! And yes, parthenogenesis had ALWAYS been such an interest of mine and I am so happy somebody actually enjoys this too. Biochemistry is incredible by the way. I actually studied biology for a little bit and adored it, however I could never get my head around chemistry! At all. I can still appreciate it though. Greek mythology however is a real love of mine. I never go a day without reading it to be honest.

I remember a day in mythology class when a student questioned how a female (Hera) could give rise to a male (Haephestus). The assumption was XX and XY chromosomes, so where’d the Y come from?

I pointed out that not all species do X & Y. In the case of birds (closer to the gods, perhaps), the female is ZW and the male ZZ. Or in the case of some reptiles, it is the temperature of gestation that determines gender.

My classmates were confused, but my prof loved it as a) it was different and b) he finally had an answer.

This is incredible. This is astounding you are so talented! I adore you. I love how you have actually linked biochemistry with Greek mythology, I never thought this would have been possible but you have proven me wrong!

I’m like a Renaissance Man without the Spanish Inquisition (nobody expects the…)

Haha, this is great. So do you do bio chemistry for a living now?

Used to…now I do medical and science writing for magazines and ad agencies, while trying to get a screenwriting and novel writing career underway…oh, and that is when I’m not being an amateur photographer & opinionated whosits online. Bascially, creative ADHD πŸ™‚

You?

This is so incredible! I admire anybody who works this hard in their life and do things they love. So amazing. I wish you luck with it all but you don’t need luck! (; you’re already on your way! And I like to say I am a glorified housewife whilst being a student on the side! I have 2 babies and a daughter on the way, so I am so thrilled awaiting her arrival! However, I am doing two degrees, which I do from home! After my forensic psychology degree is finished I will hopefully be going to train at the behavioural science unit with the FBI! It will be a little move for my family but it is my dream and my family understands this. Besides, my husbands an engineer for one of the biggest companies so he has a job all over the world lol.

Sounds like you have an amazing mission in your life and the passion to get it done! Best of luck with the new bambina. You set an amazing example for your kids…keep it up

This is the sweetest thing anybody has ever said to me, thank you so much. My children our my life and I love them more than anything in this world. This made me smile so much so thank you!

Do you have Twitter at all? (:

Yes, I’m @createdbyrcw

Your combination of subjects is seriously off the beaten path. And it feels glad to know that you are a fellow GOT fan (huge fan of the TV series here, although haven’t read the books myself).
And yes, as you say, it is possible to be young and a great family person too.
God bless. πŸ™‚

Reply

Off the beaten path? Lol. I don’t think I have heard this saying before! And GOT is epic! I love it so much and the books are so worth reading. Honestly, please read them!

Reply

Maybe I just chose another way to express your journey than you’ve ever heard. πŸ™‚
I do have the books but for some reason, maybe because I’ve already watched the shows or maybe because of the bulk of the books, I can’t bring myself to read them. Ha ha.

Reply

I know how you feel! I watched the series before I actually read the books. My husband read the books before and basically forced me to read them! I read them for this reason but also because there is so much depth in the book and it makes for such a thrilling and entertaining read!

Maybe someday in the future I’ll read them too. For now, I’m just waiting for the sixth season to arrive. Already the poster and teaser have heightened my expectations.

I actually haven’t watched season 5 yet!! But I need too badly. These final series have been nothing like the book though,

In that case, you need to watch the 5th season ASAP. It is great, to put it mildly. I haven’t read the books so I can’t compare them obviously, although the books will be better in all probabilities.

I know I do! I don’t know why I didn’t to be honest I think just responsibilities and time took over! My husband HATED season 5 with a passion though lol. He hates when they change the book so drastically.

Happens sometimes. Although it is logically impossible to show faithfully on the show whatever has transpired in the books, because of the sheer volume of the books. So they are doing the next best thing – adapting the books in a way that doesn’t change the final outcome of the show.
On a lighter note, maybe you need to watch the show when your husband isn’t around. No danger of interruptions. Lol!

Reply

You sound like such a lovely person! Your husband and kids are truly lucky :’)
Loved the enthusiasm bouncing off of every word of yours. May you keep reason and writing forever! You can count on us to follow you. :’)

This makes me so happy to read this! Thank you so much. I find that youth is always an amazing advantage. Growing up I always knew that I wanted to be married and have a family before I did the whole education thing, because I didn’t like the thought of doing all of that later, when I would be older. I love the fact that I started young. So I am happy to know that other people out there have started young also! (:

Aww thanks so much! Greek mythology really is amazing though, do you have a favourite myth? (: and you’re so welcome! You’re blog is awesome so I had to follow you (:

Reply

Thanks for the kind words. I’m still getting the hang of blogging so I really appreciate any encouragement I get. I can’t say I have a favourite myth. There’s so many good ones. I grew up watching the old Clash of the Titans film so I definitely have a soft spot for Perseus. Have you got a favourite?

Reply

You are so right when you say this! There are too many incredible myths out there to choose just one. Although I have many many favourites, Persephone and hades remains one of my most loved. Clash of the Titans is incredible, and Perseus is one of the best. I am just obsessed with mythology lol

Thanks for following my blog. I too studied classics and love mythology. Watch out for my novel, Destruction, which relates the legend of the death of the Irish High King, Conaire Mor, in the first century BCE. I think with the current rate of writing and the nit picking of my editor, it should be out in the autumn.

Reply

Thank you so much for commenting and I am so thrilled that you studied the classics and love mythology too!

Reply

I will definitely look out for your book! Email me when it is released and maybe I could review it for you (:

Reply

Thanks for the follow! Perhaps we can persuade you to have a go at a writing prompt? If you don’t think it fits on here, then we would be happy to post on Fiction Can Be Fun on your behalf, with appropriate byline.

Reply

You’re so welcome! Your blog is fantastic and I had to follow you! Thank you for commenting also. I am sorry but I am new to this whole blogging thing and am not entirely sure what a writing prompt is? I think I have a slight idea but if you could let me know that would be great!

Reply

Ah, ok, so lots of people offer writing prompts, which are a seed of an idea for you to germinate into a story. This can then be a warm up exercise for writing, or it can be a rough first draft that you work up for inclusion in a bigger piece. Debs and I offer a writing prompt once a month. The latest example is here -> https://fictioncanbefun.wordpress.com/2017/03/05/ff-prompt-you-remember-me-right/

and then our takes on the prompt are here -> https://fictioncanbefun.wordpress.com/2017/03/10/you-remember-me/

A lot of the stuff that goes onto Fiction Can be Fun started life from a prompt.

Reply

This is all sounds so wonderful and thank you for explaining what it is to me but I don’t think I would be great at this! Lol. But thank you so much anyway!

You never know until you try, practice makes perfect etc etc. For Debs and I it really is a chance to try things out and to see what we can get done in the time available. You might prefer to have a look at our #secondthoughts blog posts – again, if there is something that you’d like to say that doesn’t fit with your normal blog, we’re happy to post for you.

I am definitely going to think about it and then get back to you! Thanks again!

I just spotted your PPS there about blogging on parenting although I guess you wrote that a good while ago, do you have another blog? It’s a topic close to my heart too as it’s something that takes up the majority of my time and energy and I like to follow other parenting blogs too.

Reply

Thank you so much for commenting and no currently I do not have a parenting blog but you have given me a great idea actually! I just love talking with fellow mums I adore it in fact. Just like you it is so close to my heart, I have four babies and I love them all more than anything, them and my husband!

Reply

Do you have a parenting blog at all? Also, how many babies do you have? (:

Reply

I also have four (not really babies any more, the oldest is nearly 15!) My blog isn’t specifically a parenting one, although you inspired me this morning to write a parenting based post – thanks πŸ™‚ I write on what is close to my heart so apart from my kids my other passions would include art, writing and faith.

Reply

That is so amazing, four children are hard work but they are such a blessing. No matter how old they get they will always be babies in my eyes! My first born just turned 5 and I had a breakdown and said to my husband “But he is growing up so fast!”. Being a mum is so amazing.

Reply

I really look forward to reading this post of yours! Let me know when it is up and I will have a read. I also have a huge passion for art, but ancient art is my favourite, I don’t understand modern art as much!

I’ve just posted it so you can find it here now :https://libertyhenwick.wordpress.com/2017/03/29/mum-whats-the-meaning-of-lice/
Thanks! It’s a bit tongue in cheek, but I guess you’ll get that!

You have four babies just like me! (yes, no matter how old they get I will always call them babies lol).

My mom is the same way! I know i will be to i think every mother does that.

Haha good! I am glad I am not the only one. They will just always be my babies I could never forget when they were just newborns in my arm when they are older. It’s weird I never want them to grow up do you have that feeling too? Lol.

I always watch the old videos of them. Every day i feel that way in 3 years my oldest will be in high school :S

I do this too! Oh gosh I do not even want to think about high school that is just scary. Where in America are you from? (:

Yeah believe me it is, i am in Canada

I love Canada so much! That is where I honeymooned, it is so beautiful there.

Yeah not bad here, where did you honeymoon in Canada i haven’t traveled much!

I honeymooned in the Canadian Rockies! It was so beautiful and I will never ever forget those memories!

Awe, I always wanted twins even though some times might be hard to handle lol. Was wondering you posted you are/ were young may i ask how young?

Luckily my twin boys are blessings but it can be hard to juggle them especially when one is crying and you are trying to keep the other one happy. But this is the same with all babies! I’m 22! I had my first born when I was 17 (: although I was married and supported (my husband is older) so it wasnt so bad! Growing up I always wanted to be a wife and a mum so I have no regrets!

Awe, that is true. I am 26, i had my first born when i was 15. No regrets at all!

I am so happy to meet a fellow young mum! I think we get judged a lot because we are younger and how we have to work even harder to prove ourselves but I love the fact that I had my first baby young. I did not want to be the type of woman who would wait until she had everything.Until she had the perfect job. perfect house, perfect everything and to ‘wait until the time is right’. I just never liked that, I wanted to grow with my children and experience everything with them. I mean some woman have children when they are in their 30’s and late 30’s which is fine! But I just would want to be really young. I always said I wont have anymore babies past 25 because that will be my growing period. I said to my husband when I first met him that I want 5 babies and its non negotiable lol. So one more!

Oh i agree, but now that i am 26 i realized i am not classified as a young mom anymore even though some days i feel like i am and some days i indeed feel like i am 50 lol. I feel that having the perfect job, house and everything is overrated and really no one is perfect so why try to do so before a child plus if you do and once that child is born your perfect will be gone lol. I love/d being a young mother growing with my children was the best thing and i am still doing so! you learn every day something new no matter how old you are. I wanted 5 as well but after having my 4th baby and breastfed him for 16 months i have changed my mind haha 4 is good for me now.

Oh don’t some days I feel as if I am 50 too! lol. Everything you just said is so perfect and so true. I love being a young mum and the fact that I had my first young. It is lovely to grow with them and learn together, it is so special and I would not change it for the world!

Wow, sorry for being so talkative it is just so nice to talk with a fellow mum (:

Oh that is okay, i always enjoy it specially the fact i am now home with no kids πŸ™ i am bored ( well not bored just lonely ha ) Not use to being home with no kids now.

Oh my god whenever I am not with my kids or my husband I feel lost, like I have no purpose in life lol. I do not know what to do when I have free time! I am so used to just being busy and always having somebody around so when I dont it sucks! lol.
