The Magpie King is a book I love and admire; when I first discovered The Magpie King, I was thrilled because it appeared to be an original, fun, adorable adventure-packed story. So you can imagine my delight when I started to read this book to discover that it was just as good, if not better than my expectations! As a reader who is conscious of what books my children read, I always like to read them first to make sure they are appropriate as I have heard horror stories of some children books being highly inappropriate! As I read The Magpie King to see if it was suitable for my children, I was shocked to discover that I myself was captivated by its glorious story! The Magpie King may fall in the genre of middle-grade fantasy but it is incredibly entertaining, so already I would recommend this extraordinary sweet story to both adults and children alike!
Tatty Moon is the star of The Magpie King, and she makes for an adorable little character that will get your children imagination running wild! Tatty Moon and her friend Willium Patch cause mischief and this is in the form of trying to steal a giant bottle full of milk. What happens next is a hilarious chain of events that cause chaos for just about everybody! And it all revolves around the bottle of milk, and I have to admit, I adore the wonderful author, M.J. Fahy and her impeccable storyline resolving this!
The story of this sensational book is one that will undoubtedly capture young imaginations. M.J. Fahy is a descriptive writer who perfectly describes her characters and settings flawlessly. Fahy’s talent to make the reader and my children visualize every detail is truly phenomenal, and I applaud her so much for her incredible ability as a writer. Children books are hard books to write, I think a lot of readers assume they are the easiest as they are usually short and not full of too much information. In other words, they are cute, sweet, quick stories! However, as a mother I know all too well that children books are hit and miss with your children, they will either love the story or hate it, either they will be captivated or distracted. So children books are incredibly hard to write as you have to capture and keep a young readers mind and that is extremely difficult to accomplish. That is one of the many reasons why M.J. Fahy is such a rare talent, as she has managed to capture my children’s mind perfectly! Her impressive Amazon reviews also give the impression that her book has registered with so many other children so The Magpie King can only be described as an award-worthy book.
As I do love this story so much and think it is incredibly impressive thanks to its unique characterization and flawless narrative, I have no choice but to award The Magpie King a dazzling Five Stars! So please book lovers, if you love middle-grade fantasy or your children are looking for a brilliant, captivating, adorable story then I would implore you to buy this book because it is quite simply sensational!
