Never to Love is an incredible, entertaining, moving novel that compelled me to read into the very early hours of the morning. As I began to read Never to Love I found myself instantly hooked on the story as well as the protagonist and her journey. Mary Ann Carman, the author of this delightful book, is an author I would already recommend that readers look out for because her romantic tale combined with fantasy elements is enough to make any reader fall in love with her writing and her superb books!

Never to Love follows the young and fiery protagonist of the novel, Ciannait in Ireland 1065. All Ciannait wants is love and she would want nothing more but to fall in love and live an isolated and peaceful life, but war is raging across Ireland and when her father is murdered, Ciannait will unleash revenge across the plains.

Lorcan is the male protagonist of Never to Love and his passion is to fight, he wants to continue to serve his country in the war but when he is ordered home by the king, he must face a troubling situation as he meets Ciannait and starts to fall for her. Will he follow his heart and throw himself into a relationship with Ciannait or will he return to battle?

Soon the reader will follow Ciannait and Lorcan on their quest of discovery and revenge and this book lovers is the premise of this thrilling novel which will undoubtedly engross any reader from the beginning. Oh, and did I mention that Ciannait is a witch!

I have to admit, I am madly in love with this book, the interesting plot combined with beautiful Ireland in the Medieval era laced with the authors excellent writing make Never to Love a standout piece of fiction amongst the historical romance/fantasy genre. I adored the tale of star-crossed lovers and was engrossed in Ciannait and Lorcan’s story from beginning to end thanks to the phenomenal characterization courtesy of the incredible Mary Ann Carman.

Mary Ann Carman is an incredible talent as she knows just how to engross her readers with her addictive plot and well-developed characters. As I read her book, I found myself racing through it, desperate to find out what was going to happen and this is because of how impeccably Carman writers. As I am a huge lover of this book and adore everything about it, I have no choice but to award this stunning piece of fiction a dazzling Five Stars!
