In The Sword, the first volume of his new fantasy series The Legacy Chronicle, T.H. Paul brings you into a vast world of gods and mortals. The story of The Sword follows the life of Trem Waterhound, a half-elven hermit who, against his own judgment, heals and befriends a wounded young man when he finds his unconscious body in the thick undergrowth of Silverleaf Forest. Together, Trem and his former patient, Jovanaleth, embark on a journey to find Jovan’s missing father. Along the way they become embroiled in a conflict that extends across the mortal world of Teth-tenir and even into the Godly Realms, and both are forced to confront their past in order to face an even more dangerous future.
The Legacy Chronicle: The Sword is book one in The Legacy Chronicles written by the talented fantasy author, T.H. Paul and I confess… I am in love. The Sword is a thrilling, all-consuming assault of brilliance and I loved every moment of it thanks to the impeccable action, well-developed story and enigmatic characters who had me captivated from the first page. Without making too bold of a statement, I believe that The Sword is the next best fantasy book and if book two (The Shield) proves to be just as brilliant as The Sword then we readers have a great fantasy series that could easily be compared to fantasy classics.
The Sword follows the protagonist of the story, Trem Waterhound (I know, what an incredible last name!) as he embarks on a dangerous and life-altering journey after healing and befriending a wounded young man. Trem you see is half-elven, and elven’s should not be and do not like to interact with humans; however, Trem is decent and wanted to help. Jovanaleth’s father is missing and so Trem decides to help him further and embark on a quest to find his father. However, their journey will be dangerous thanks to the host of conflicts they will encounter as well as deadly beings. When ensues is a thrilling, brilliant novel that all readers, even nonfantasy readers will be able to enjoy and fall in love with.
The story of The Sword is a gripping one as from the first few pages I was hooked. The unique story of an elven narrator was fascinating to me and compelled me to read thanks to the brilliant characterization of the author, T.H. Paul.
T.H. Paul is a superb writer, not only for his exceptional characterization but also because of his ability to develop an exceptional fantasy land that will send readers minds into overdrive. The descriptions in this book are simply jaw-dropping, I found myself reading in bewilderment thanks to the vivid descriptions so already I have to thank Paul for being so descriptive with his work.
As The Legacy Chronicle: The Sword is an incredible book that will have the ability to hook and compel readers to read for many hours, I have no choice but to award this stunning book Five Stars! If you are a reader, who loves fantasy and want an original, unique fantasy tale that is unlike anything you have read before then I would recommend the brilliant The Sword!
