In 2038, the human race is in a death spiral, and most people do not even know it yet. Technology that was supposed to make us better and stronger instead is birthing a strange and terrible plague we may not be able to stop. When the young daughter of Josh Scribner, a wealthy tech entrepreneur, starts to succumb to the illness, he dedicates his fortune in a desperate effort to save her life. Working with a friend & celebrated physicist, Josh develops the ability to send objects back through time. Their goal to recruit an agent in the past who might change our fatal path.

In our present day, a broken and traumatized Air Force veteran finds a strange message in the woods, drawing her into an adventure spanning decades. All humanity is at stake, as she and her small group of friends become the unlikely heroes taking up the secret fight against our future doom.

A short while ago I read and reviewed an incredible book called Seeing by Moonlight which was an outstanding historical fiction novel with a twist and ever since finishing it I was desperate to read another book by authors M.F. Thomas and Nicholas Thurkettle. A Sickness in Time is another book by them, and I was eager to start reading it, and when I picked it up I raced through it! That is because the story that unfolds is compelling as well as intriguing and fascinated me from start to finish and made me want to re-read the book and now that I think about it, I might just do that! The exceptional authors have once again managed to compel me and astound me with their phenomenal execution. I loved the author’s first book, and I am so happy that I love this book too because nobody likes reading a book from authors they have grown to love only to be disappointed by the second! However, we do not have that issue here because A Sickness in Time is incredible and is definitely a novel that should not be missed.

Before I even discuss the plot of A Sickness in Time I have to mention that this book would make the perfect movie and I would be surprised if it never becomes a movie because the plot of the book and the evolution of the story is wildly entertaining, gripping and intriguing so take note book lovers! A Sickness in Time is a time travel dystopian novel that will take its readers on an expansive journey that will shock and entertain readers from start to finish. The reader will be taken to 2038 as well as in the present day but first the reader will be introduced to our terrifying future in which technology has birthed a plague that is terrifying as well as virtually unstoppable and this plague (which will eventually wipe out all of humanity) which infects the young daughter of Josh Scribner, a wealthy technology entrepreneur, he will force himself to do something radical. Josh will enlist the help of his physicist friend, and together they try to find a way to go back in time well, not them go back in time but to send objects, such as a note which could warn the people in the present day of what the technology humans created will do to the world. This will then introduce the reader to an Air Force veteran who discovers the messages and then he is forced on an adventure, and this book lovers is the premise of the sensational A Sickness in Time.

The story of A Sickness in Time is an incredible one, and the themes of technology and a plague was fascinating. I always love when a story portrays the world and what it could one day be because the sad truth is is that humans could one day create or generate something which leads to the fall of humanity, so the story of A Sickness in Time really is highly entertaining and intriguing.

The story laced throughout the pages is quite simply amazing, and this is because it is a puzzling, perplexing, thrilling and exciting mystery that will have readers compelled to read from start to finish. I adore dystopian/adventure tales, but some can be lackluster thanks to the predictable nature of them. A Sickness in Time, however, will keep its readers guessing and I challenge you readers to guess where the plot goes when you read this excellent book… I would be interested whether you were able to correctly guess the outcome! I tried my hardest, but the authors continuously keep their readers on edge with their sheer brilliance.

Not only do the authors have a fantastic ability to shroud the book in a chilling mystery that will have readers frantically turning the pages, but they are also fantastic authors for their descriptive writing. The descriptive powers of the authors are once again excellent, and the authors write with the abilities and qualities of authors who have been writing for decades… that is how wonderful they are!

Overall if you are a reader looking to get lost in a unique dystopian tale that is original and addictive then read A Sickness in Time… you will not regret it! A Sickness in Time, of course, gets five stars from me book lovers, be sure to have a read of this book as well as Seeing by Moonlight and please do keep an eye out for my spotlight for M.F. Thomas which will be live sometime next week!
